Tonia has been in the field for over 30 years, working in clinical, research and industry. She has been a volunteer for NCSH for over 10 years in various capacites. She currently works for General Data Healthcare as a Field Support Manager.

Pamela has 27 years of histology experience with a degree in biology. She believes in getting the job done well and always giving your best. Pamela has managed and supervised various teams. As a member of NCSH she plans to continue the growth of the organization.

Samantha has been in the field of histology for over 18 years. She is currently the Histology Coordinator at Mission Hospital/HCA in Asheville. She has enjoyed being involved in and volunteering with the NCSH. She is excited to have the opportunity to serve as treasurer where she can work with all aspects of the society.

Jennifer Whitmore, HTL, MHA

Jennifer has worked in the hospital sector of histology since 2012 and has been volunteering with NCSH since 2020. She trained at ECU Health and currently works in the Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation. She received her bachelor's in Biology in 2011 from North Carolina Wesleyan University, became certified as a histotechnologist in 2015, obtained her Lean Green Belt in 2021, and Master's in Healthcare Administration in 2022 from UNC-W.

Cathy has been in the field for over 41 years working for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Medical School, with a pretty equal split between clinical and research. She currently works in Comparative  Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist.

Sierra Brooks, EdD, HT (ASCP)

Dr. Sierra Brooks is an esteemed researcher and educator who is currently affiliated with the University of North Carolina- Rex Healthcare and partners with The National Institute of Environment Health Sciences. Dr. Brooks obtained a Doctorate in Education, paving the way for a successful career in both teaching and scientific research. Her dedication to education is demonstrated by her dual positions as a student mentor and a researcher who is pushing

Renee has  been in the field for 40 years working in a variety of  clinical histology labs. She recently transitioned to the research environment .  She has been a volunteer for NCSH for 2 years.

Lequanda Stewart, HTL, MHA

Lequanda started working as a histology technician at Wake Forest Baptist hospital in 1999 where she was trained on the job. She returned back to school to receive her Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Winston Salem State University.  Experience in general hisotology, IHCs and MOHs histology. She is currently working as a Histology Supervisor at Cone Health.

Rob graduated from the Air Force institute of Pathology (AFIP) “Old” Walter Reed as a civilian in Washington DC.   He recently completed his Bachelors in Biology from James Madison University is a Certified HT(ASCP).  Currently, he is working on his masters (Slowly) while he also focuses on his other love, Pottery.  Rob currently lives in Penland NC and runs a pottery with his spouse.  Life is good!    

Kate Coldren

Kate has been supporting NC & SC region since 2022 for Sakura Finetek as an Area Sales Manager. Prior to joining her current role, she supported distribution customers for consumables for medicine and science in the lab, assisted in managing distribution and GPO contracts, and has nine years clinical experience in veterinary medicine with supporting staff in numerous roles from general practice to referral surgery.

David has been in the field of histology for 25 years working in research and industry in both technical and supervisory roles. He has been an NCSH volunteer for 20 years. Additionally has been a certified HTL for 20 years and QIHC certified for 6 years.

Otis has been in the field for 45 years to include clinical and research. He has served as a volunteer for NCSH for 18 years. He is currently working as a govenment contractor at NIEHS as a Senior Histologist/Biologist.

Aurel has been in the field since 2010. She is a graduate of Davidson County Community College's Histotechnology's program. She has been a volunteer for NCSH for 15 years and is currently a Team Lead and safety officer at Duke University Health System since 2012.
